New Year's resolution: New year, new Falcon
As the year 2026 heads off to a start, Falcons once again prepare to begin their labors anew. New Year's resolutions are commonly made with varying degrees of commitment, but to some Falcons, they serve as a significant starting point for a brand new year.
"I plan to go to the gym more," said Hari Pandya '28, noting the importance of staying healthy, especially with sophomore year's increased responsibilities. He initially considered focusing on studying and socializing but realized that developing a good exercise routine could be equally important. "It could also help me do better in cross country next fall."
Pandya explained his comprehensive approach: eating healthier alongside gym visits would support mental health, study efficiency, and athletic performance. He also aims to reduce spending by cutting back on frequent food purchases, which would help him save money weekly.
Tina Tan '28 echoed similar health-focused goals with an emphasis on self-care. "I want to eat more good food because it always makes me happy, and I realized the importance of treating myself well as much as working hard." She balances indulgence with exercise and highlighted a specific priority: "the most important thing is drinking more water."
However, not all students embrace this tradition. Audrey Liu '28 chose a different path: "I'm not going to make New Year's resolutions this year." She explained that she consistently fails to follow through or forgets her resolutions entirely. Instead, she prefers living each day fully and freely without predetermined expectations, believing this approach enhances her productivity.
