On Thursday, December 19, Peddie celebrated its winter holiday tradition with a festive evening in the Chapel. The event brought together students, parents, alumni, and teachers for an evening of music and community bonding.

Musical Performances

The Chamber Orchestra opened the celebration with several selections, including pieces from Nutcracker, Handel's "Messiah," and "What Sweeter Music." The ensemble collaborated with the choir on Christmas favorites such as "Winter Song," performed by the Treblemakers. The guitar ensemble also participated, joining choir and orchestra singers for "Feliz Navidad."

The evening concluded with the traditional "Sleigh Ride," performed as families prepared to leave. The audience responded enthusiastically to all performances throughout the event.

Community Moments

Between musical selections, Peddie seniors read excerpts from the Bible. School leaders Mr. Onion and Mr. Hamilton offered words of encouragement to the gathered community.

A significant tradition involved turning off all the chapel lights while everyone sang "Silent Night" together, holding flameless candles. This moment created "a moment where the entire community bonded into one, regardless of whether they were students or teachers, musicians or audience members, and parents or children."

Winter Festival

Following the concert, attendees enjoyed a Winter Festival in the Grille featuring hot chocolate, s'mores, and holiday decorations. The space featured balloons, inflated snowmen, and ornaments where the school community mingled and shared food together.
